About the Owners

Chad Burden
CEO
Chad was born and raised in West Guilford and his family has owned and operated the West Guilford Shopping Centre for over 40 years serving the local community with their grocery and general needs. It’s fair to say he’s our LOCAL BOY! He and Steph were very excited to be part of the new Kennisis Lake Marina so they could further provide the community with marina and other leisure destination services. Chad, Steph along with Ellie and Chase (the next generation!) are on site all season long with smiles as the core operations team of Kennisis Lake Marina.

Gary Bouwmeister
VP Fun
Gary has been a Kennisis Lake cottager (and a very enthusiastic one!) for over 12 years along with his wife Melissa and kids Karley and Josh. Originally from Stouffville, he has over 40 years experience running Bouwmeister Landscaping and other private real estate ventures. While he kind of likes working...what he really loves is HAVING FUN! He is an avid golfer and pickleball player and he has been in charge of organizing countless major social events over the years including the legendary ‘Bouwmeister Bashes.’ When the Kennisis Lake Marina opportunity arose, he was very keen to be part of it. He is a big part of turning Kennisis Lake Marina into an exciting leisure destination and will continue to oversee our evolving site design and our many upcoming social events.

Jim Dale
VP Excitement
Jim has been a keen Kennisis Lake cottager for over 30 years after purchasing a cottage with a couple of university buddies after graduation. For 3 guys that wanted to party and have fun (the cottage was named Kamp Kwafafew), it was a 3 year plan...that turned into 30!! (Really, who wants to leave Kennisis Lake??). Originally from Toronto, he spent many years working in the finance industry before having the opportunity to spend more time up north with his wife Lisa and 3 kids, Spencer, Jayson and Jenna. Jenna currently runs our boat rental division at the marina and Lisa runs Kennisis Courts, our pickleball and tennis operation. Jim was excited to be part of the Kennisis Lake Marina ownership team to help create a top notch destination for the Kennisis Lake area.
